The Brides and the Booth

January 18th, 2011

Wow. We have officially recovered from the Democrat-Gazette Bridal Show yesterday. Let me say that, despite the amount of work, we had such a wonderful time meeting all the brides!

I wanted to share a few photos of the booth. Special thanks to some special vendors who made our booth look great:

Tish Bullard of Pink Tea Rose Events for our fabulously designed water bottle wrappers.

Eventures for our square cocktail tables and hot pink & black linens.

Trendstyle Events for our seating

Tanarah of Distinctive Designs by Tanarah for our flower arrangements

I hope all of the brides who stopped by enjoyed the booth. I know we had a great time talking to all y’all. Now comes the fun part of following up ;)

Happy Wedding!

Aunt Debbie’s Response

January 10th, 2011

I just had to share this wonderful email with you. This is from Aunt Debbie – the aunt of my couple Danielle and Johnny Peterson. You may remember them from the “Shake Your Tail Feather” video. Here is her feedback after watching the entire wedding video.

“Happy New Year, Tish,
OMG, I can’t quit watching the Danielle & Johnny Get Married DVD. We all got our own copies for Christmas or else my sister would never get hers back!!! You captured some of the most beautiful moments – I don’t mean the important, what-you-need-to-catch shots, I mean those rare and unexpected chance catches. When I saw Danielle WINK at Johnny when they were kneeling at the altar, and Hannah and her “happy meal” and those “filming her/them being filmed” shots and behind-the-scenes that I didn’t get to see in person. Oh, Tish, if you EVER need testimonials my whole family will put you on the map! W O W. . . I know everyone says watching it makes you feel like you were there all over again but for me watching some of those scenes was like being there the first time because I don’t even remember the cake-cutting! You were so equal in covering both families that no one could complain or be disappointed. And for my dad, Danielle’s grandfather, who couldn’t make the trip, well, this means the world to him (my mom was the one reading the prayer, or “invocation” as she put it). Great job and thank you so much for truly using your talent and creativity to bring such joy to so many. God Bless You (oh, and your husband, too hahaha). My husband and I have a recording studio and we work together as well – I created Danielle’s video for the wedding and Ricky did the music edits. I’m also a Creative Producer for an advertising firm in our area AND, have my own spot, “What Would Deb Do” on our NBC affiliate as I talk about what to do for the weekend in our Ohio Valley. So I’m not just blowing bubbles, Tish, you are awesome.
Thank you again for the happy hours I can have whenever I want!
Deb Witkowski”

Thank you, Aunt Debbie, for the amazing words.
Happy Wedding
Tish

Best Kiss EVER!

January 6th, 2011

As a colleague of mine so aptly put, this couple is “over the moon” in love with each other. I was blessed to take part in Meghan Pless and Mark Cordell’s wedding this weekend. It took place at the Chamberlyne Country Club in Danville, Ark.

This was my first time shooting at Chamberlyne – which has just gorgeous architecture. And it’s close to my hometown of Russellville – so I was able to get a little bonus family time ;)

Meghan’s aunt – Barbara Downes – asked me several months ago to film the wedding. I of course said yes! Barbara helped me out when I first graduated college (I won’t say how many years ago). She graciously let me bunk with her until I was able to get my feet planted securely in my new city of Little Rock. I FINALLY was able to repay in small part her generosity.

Now back to Meghan and Mark – this couple was so in love – so easy to work with. And just an all around beautiful couple. They really made my job easy! I also gratefully acknowledge their service to our country! Thank you!

I’d give a shout out to Melissa McCrotty of Melissa McCrotty Photography for her talent in setting the couple up in fabulous poses. It was a real pleasure working with Melissa – finally ;) We’ve chatted back and forth on Facebook – but this was our first time to meet each other face to face.

Although it will be a bit before I get the final video produced, I wanted to give you a small taste. Be sure to watch for the Best Kiss EVER at the end. One small note – this is our first video shot on our new HD cameras! I’m a happy camper.

Happy Wedding!

Tish

For Unto Us…

December 24th, 2010

For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.
And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger.
And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying,
Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.

Luke 2:11-14

I don’t want to get all preachy – that’s something I just can’t stand. But I do want to tell you my heart. I was sitting here thinking, today. (While I’m listening to my Christmas CDs) Do you realize just how much we’re blessed? I mean, really sit down and take time to think about it. Stop rushing around. Stop making sure all the gifts are where they’re supposed to be. Stop. Be still. Think. Listen.

I’ve been a Christian all my life. I have never known any different. Thanks to Mom and Dad, I’ve always known God loves me, and Jesus came and died for me. It’s comfortable. It’s miraculous. It’s peace. It’s also easy to forget – and let it get buried by life’s busy-ness.

So – I challenge you today to stop and remember. A very young woman was chosen to carry God’s son. Her husband loved her enough to support her and stand beside her when all others told him to put her away because she shamed him. She gave birth to her very first child in a barn with stinky animals. She kissed His cheek, and cradled and fed Him.

Then she gave her son to God, and watched him take on the sin of the world. He died a horrific death on a wooden cross. Because God loved us enough to send His only son to save us. Do you remember? You are loved.

Ultimate Bridal Giveaway!

December 10th, 2010

I am extremely excited to be part of an amazing team that will give away an ultimate bridal package at the January 2011 Arkansas Democrat-Gazette Bridal Show! When Tabitha Cunningham, Promotions Director at the Dem-Gaz, called to ask if we would be interested in taking part – I quickly said yes. What a great opportunity to Pay It Forward to a well-deserving bride and groom!

Our contribution to the giveaway is a Two-Camera Ceremony Package – which includes two HD camera coverage of the ceremony, manned by two professional videographers. We will provide wireless microphones for the minister and groom. And we’ll then take that footage, and professionally edit with music and graphics. The lucky couple will receive three DVD copies of their ceremony, beautifully packaged. It’s a $750 value.

Sounds great, right? And that’s just our contribution to the package. Many bridal vendors are taking part in this exciting event. You can find out more details about the giveaway at www.ArkansasBridalCommunity.com.

Here’s a sample of our Two Camera Ceremony coverage. Enjoy! And be sure to stop by our booth at the bridal show. That’s January 16th at the Statehouse Convention Center – we’re in booth #126. Visit us online at www.kempvideoproductions.com! Happy Planning – Tish

Pie’s in the oven

November 24th, 2010

I love this time of year. I know, I know. Everybody says that. But, really – this is really a good time of year to make me step back and evaluate the year.

We’ve come a long way – both personally and professionally. My husband and I are trying to start a family. We haven’t been successful, yet. But we’ll get there.

The business is growing by leaps and bounds. Our incorporation status is almost final. HD cameras will be ordered by the end of the year. And we’re already booking dates for 2011 weddings. I am thankful.

Take a minute and step back … shift your perspective from the immediate task to the overall picture. What are you thankful for? Have you accomplished what you wanted to this year? If not – you still have a month left to do so – get busy, y’all!
